The warm but pleasant summers are enrolled with a gathering called "summer festival" to re figure lives. The Summer Festival is organized and celebrated in the only hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu. It is held annually in the Hindu month of Aashadh (May or June) on Budh Poornima. The diverse colorful culture of this city, the hospitality of the people, the mesmerizing and the exotic location of this festival make it even more unforgettable and an exclusive experience. The festival commences with a ceremonial procession from the RTDC Hotel Shikhar and then finally gathering at the Nakki Lake Chowk, which is followed by some of the best folk performances by Rajasthan and Gujarat folk artists. These folk performances include ballad singing and folk dances. Activities such as Skating Race, Skaters show, CRPF Band show, Boat Race, Horse Race, Tug of War, Panihari Matka Race etc make the festival even more exuberant and enthusiastic. The celebrations and the gaiety atmosphere begin from the morning, tourists and visitors sit with a cup of Tea to be entertained by the local cultural troops. The day moves forward with competitions and other activities such as boat race at the Nakki Lake and an outdoor Shaam-e-Qawwali performance in the evening adds to the extravagance.
